Privacy policy
Short version: we count article views without cookies, we store your email only if you ask us to, and we do not sell anything about you.
Who we are
This site is operated by EJU Tech (“we”), which is the data controller for the information described here. Contact: hello@ejutech.dev.
What we collect
Analytics
We record a pageview when an article is read: the page, the referring site, an approximate country, a general device type, and a random session identifier stored in your browser for the length of your visit.
We do not set advertising or tracking cookies for this, we do not fingerprint your device, and we do not attempt to identify you. The session identifier is random, held in sessionStorage, and discarded when you close the tab.
Newsletter
If you subscribe, we store your email address, the date, and the page you subscribed from. We use it only to send the newsletter you asked for. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list.
If you email us, we keep the message and your address so we can reply and keep context for any ongoing conversation.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.
- We do not run third-party advertising or tracking scripts on this site.
- We do not use cross-site tracking or advertising cookies.
- We do not build advertising profiles about readers.
Why we are allowed to hold it
- Newsletter: your consent, given when you subscribe, withdrawable at any time.
- Analytics: our legitimate interest in understanding which articles are useful, using the least identifying method we could implement.
- Correspondence: our legitimate interest in answering you.
Who else can see it
We keep data with service providers who process it on our instructions and nothing more: Supabase (database and storage) and Vercel (hosting and delivery). Newsletter delivery may use an email service provider, named here once one is in use. We disclose data otherwise only where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Analytics: aggregated after 24 months.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe, then removed within 30 days.
- Email: as long as needed for the conversation and our records.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to how we use it, or ask for it in a portable format. Email hello@ejutech.dev and we will respond within 30 days. If you are unhappy with our response you may complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
This site is written for a professional audience and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.
Other sites
Articles link to external sites we do not control. Their privacy practices are their own.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and, for subscribers, say so in the newsletter. See also our terms of use and editorial policy.
